Product Care

Sterling silver may tarnish when exposed to:

  • Salty air

  • Cosmetics

  • Perspiration

  • Sulfur

  • Chlorine

  • Household bleach

It is recommended that you remove your jewellery when:

  • Swimming in pools or the sea

  • Using lotions, cosmetics and hair products

  • Sleeping

Here are a few ways you can clean sterling silver jewellery at home:

  • Gently scrub your silver in warm, soapy water using an old toothbrush.

  • Line a bowl with tin foil, add a small amount of bicarbonate of soda and hot water, place your silver into the mixture and leave it for five minutes, remove and rinse under warm water.

  • Buff your silver with a polishing cloth.

Ethics and Sustainability

I work with recycled metals sourced from London-based suppliers. I use found, organic materials in my work too; sea glass, pebbles and shells.

My jewellery boxes are made from FSC®-certified cardboard and water-based glue, with foam inserts made from tall oil (a by-product of paper production). My postage boxes are made from recycled paper, sealed with paper tape.

I want to ensure the gemstones I use in my work come from reputable, ethical sources. I subscribe to The Ethical Making Resourcea ‘research-led platform for sharing information about responsible and sustainable practice in the jewellery and silversmithing industry’, through which I have discovered a number of fairtrade gemstone dealers.
